The Best Fake Tans That Won’t Leave You with ‘Trump-Face’

 In Beauty

It’s fun to laugh at memes of Trump’s orange face, but it’s another story when it happens to you.

Ladies, we’ve all been here. You’re a little too generous with the application and the days that follow include you self-consciously covering your legs, neck, hands and feet. It’s not ideal, especially on those notoriously hot days.

Fake tan is incredible, but it does take a little trial and error. My golden rule? Always apply less than you think. Always. Blotchy orange patches on knuckles, elbows and knees isn’t sexy. And of course, the smell. It’s my hubby’s pet hate – smelling (and seeing) fake tan in the bed.

Luckily, fake tan has come a long way so, I’m going to run you through my favourite embarrassment-free fake tans. Bronzed beauty babe? You got it with these products.

No more ‘Lindsay Lohan’ fake tan fails.

Sukin Sunless Bronzing Gel: $18.95

As a society, we’ve become more aware of the ingredients in products and beauty companies are listening to our needs. This gorgeous bronzing gel is free from parabens and all other nasties. With its naturally-infused lemon myrtle and lime scents, you won’t have to block your nose as the gorgeous bronze tone develops.

Bondi Sands Self-Tanning Foam, Dark: $19.95

This is Kylie Jenner’s go-to tanning product and it’s my favourite, too. Need I say more? It brings me from a ‘2’ to a ‘10’ in just one hour through an easy-to-apply foam. Grab yourself a mitt for streak-free application all over your body to achieve that sexy, summery glow. The girls will ask if you’ve just returned from a tropical holiday.

Bondi Sands Gradual Tanning Milk: $17.95

I love about this product is that it’s a tanning ‘milk’. Yes, you’ll get that golden glow, but without the dryness that follows sun sessions (and without sun damage, yay). Your bod will remain soft and smooth, thanks to vitamin E and aloe vera. Bondi Sands also has SPF15 for daily sun protection. It’s sunscreen with a cocoa-butter smelling moisturiser.

Eco Tan Face Tan Water: $34.95

If you’re prone to breakouts with oily skin or sensitive skin, this is the tanning product for you. It’s a tan ‘water’, so it won’t clog your pores while it gives your face a beautiful summer glow. As you can probably tell by the name, it’s an all-natural, vegan tanning product.

Skinny Tan & Tone Oil: $29.95

This product had me at ‘skinny.’ Are you always on the go? You’ll love this simple spritz, quick-drying tan oil. Spray, rub and forget. In four hours, you’ll notice a medium golden glow that carries a coconut scent. The skinny part? Well, this tan has cellulite-fighting ingredients and repairs dry skin, leaving you with a glowing complexion.

St Tropez Self Tan Express Bronze Mousse: $29.99

Can’t get to the French Riviera? This product will give you the most important part of a Mediterranean holiday – the glorious glow. Leave this on for an hour for a natural tone, two hours for a medium tan or three hours for a deeper bronze.

“You’re glowing” takes on an entirely new meaning.

I love MineTan – you can get it from supermarkets and chemists and it has a coconut and coffee scent (so none of the fake tan smell)
I really want to try the tanning milk and the tanning oils though! Xx
