What is Omnilux and Why Should You Try It?
I know you’ve heard of hundreds of different beauty treatments that promise to leave you with gorgeous, supermodel-worthy skin, right? I’ve spoken previously about Microdermabrasion, but my favourite treatment of all time has to be Omnilux.
Have you ever wanted glowing, smooth-textured skin that means you can just pop on some mascara and go? Of course you have! I honestly think that Omnilux is the best way to get there. I’ve recently undergone a course of treatments and have been successfully able to go to work and out to dinner with no foundation on. Want to know more? I recently sat down with the gorgeous ladies at Facialista’s to learn more about the magic of Omnilux LED Light Therapy.
What is Omnilux?
Omnilux is a medical device that utilises light emitting diode technology. Using visible red LEDs and invisible infrared LEDs, it works with the body’s own natural process to counteract the signs of ageing on a cellular level.
How does it work?
As we grow older the cells that manufacture the skin’s supportive structures begin to slow down. Environmental damage from the sun’s rays speed up this process and produce free radicals that damage the skin and the cells that produce collagen and elastin. Omnilux light therapy targets and boosts the specific cells responsible for the synthesis and repair of the skin’s supportive structures, leading to a softening of fine lines and improved skin tone.
How is it different from a traditional facial?
Unlike other treatments where the effects are short-lived, Omnilux light therapy stimulates natural cellular processes that rejuvenate and repair the skin. This means that the results you see will continue to improve for up to 4 to 6 months after the light treatment.
After your initial treatment, your skin will be clearer, brighter and smoother. But, after a course of 10 treatments, you will notice an improvement in the tone, clarity, and texture of your skin. Studies have shown that over 80% of subjects have reported a softening of fine lines and 75% have reported an improvement in skin softness and smoothness (I am definitely one of those people).
The best thing? There is no downtime. So, after your treatment, you can go straight back to your normal routine.
Why are there 3 types of light?
Each light has a very specific wavelength;
- Omnilux Revive (Red) 633 Nano meters is used for skin rejuvenation. Skin appears clearer with less fine lines, plumped and hydrated.
- Omnilux Plus (near infra-red) 830 Nano meters. When this red light is administered, it stimulates the deeper skin tissue, leading to a softening of fine lines, improved skin tone, and super smooth skin. It can also be successfully used with injectables, chemical peels, and other aesthetic treatments. It assists in wound healing, pain management, psoriasis, and reduces periorbital wrinkles.
- Omnilux Blue 415 Nano meters neutralises the bacteria (Propionbacterium) that causes the redness and inflammation of acne. Studies have shown complete clearance of lesions. On average you would expect 70-80% of acne lesions to clear.
What makes Omnilux different from other LED light therapies?
Omnilux is the Gold Standard and market leader in LED light therapy with over 40 clinical studies to support its efficacy. It is the original leader in non-invasive LED technology and has more than 30 peer-reviewed published studies that validate its clinical claims and treatment protocols.
It has more FDA approved indications than any other brand and global regulatory approvals include US FDA, Medical CE, Japanese MHLW, Korean KFDA, China CFDA, Australian TGA, and many others. If that doesn’t impress you, I don’t know what will.
Why should people try Omnilux?
Unlike many of treatments currently on the market that essentially damage the skin to promote regeneration (hello, vampire facial), Omnilux is non-invasive with no pain and no downtime. You can have a quick Omlilux session during your lunch break before a big event and be ready to glow!
Effective and affordable, it is approved for acne and photo rejuvenation with no side effects and no damage to sub-dermal tissue. Not only this, but regular Omnilux treatments will increase the effectiveness of your skincare, helping it absorbed more efficiently into the skin. And lastly, it’s a relaxing and calming experience. While your skin is being plumped and healed, your body is being treated with a gorgeous shoulder or hand massage.
An Omnilux treatment can be conducted as a standalone treatment or it can be combined with a facial or peel (more on that later). The amazing therapists at Facialista’s like to say that Omnilux turns a regular facial treatment into a red-carpet treatment. From my experiences, they’re not wrong! With about two months of weekly Omnilux treatments under my belt, my skin has never felt better and in-turn my confidence has skyrocketed.
